It's August! This week Stone Soup features a series of cartoons that celebrate my favorite month. The 9 year old in me (aka Alix) can't believe that I don't have the whole month off to do nothing more than dangle my toes in some lovely lake. I don't, so I did the next best thing by letting my characters have all the fun.
The seventh collection of Stone Soup cartoons is hitting bookstores online and off any time now. "This Might Not Be Pretty" is 192 pages and full color. You can order it at your favorite bookstore, site, or from stonesoupcartoons.com. Enjoy!
Your August cartoons with everyone saying how great August is~~~~~~~~and swimming and all those great summer things. I just have to tell you that here the kids have been in school already three weeks!! It is still August, it is still HOT but they aren't having the fun that your Stone Soup people are!!
By the way, I love your cartoon~~~~~~this from a grandma.

I absolutely LOVE your August series--it brings back memories of my Northwest childhood, camping in our wonderful woods. My favorite (it should be available as a print to frame) is the August 22 strip with Val having her early morning coffee while everyone else sleeps. It makes me wish I was on vacation instead of hard at work! You should do a special book of just these strips.

August... I know that there are kids who have to go back to school in August, but to me that will always be a CRIME. August, right up until Labor Day, is the best of summer. School is for September!
Sign me, "Still Swimming...."

If this is book 7 and there are 5 previous books... where's book SIX??

Book Six was published by Andrews McMeel. It's called "Desperate Households". Unfortunately, let have let it go out of print. Amazon still had copies last I checked, so I imagine there are copies available through other outlets for a while.
It's also a full color book, and a good read.
Thanks for asking!
Jan
