On Sept. 19th, 20th, 21st I was in Marceline, MO for Toonfest. Marceline is the model for Mainstreet USA in Disneyland, and there is no shortage of warm and fuzzy Disney feelings there. The Disney family farm is here, as well as a Disney Museum, and a host of lovely, friendly people. I had the pleasure of sharing the stage with some amazing cartoonists... Tom Richmond of Mad Magazine fame (see gesturing buff guy), Dave Coverly, Greg Evans, Michael Jantze.
We were also joined by animator Cedric Hohnstadt, Ted Goff, and others, making for a mini-cartoonists gathering. FUN for us, since basically, we all work alone. I had a blast. $2 beers in the local tavern?? Cartoonist heaven.

We paraded, feasted, planted (trees on the Disney Farm), autographed and generally enjoyed ourselves.
And yes, this is me in a Mickey Mouse hardhat.
THANK YOU to the Toonfest folks for hosting us and creating this great party.

Strong strip. Too bad Jan Eliot has stopped drawing the background art that made Stone Soup stand out.

Thanks for the feedback, Mark. It's always a trade-off between rushing to meet deadlines, being confined to a small space, etc. But it's good for me to hear that something was valued... and is being missed.
Thanks for reading Stone Soup!
